This ballast features a 'super-lumen' switch that basically turns down the power output for metal halide lamps. Lumatek offer a solid 3 year no-quibble guarantee with years 4 & 5 covered under pro-rated cover (this means that if you have a failure in year four you can buy a replacement ballast at 75% discount - in year five this goes down to a 50% discount).
