Diamond Reflectors

The Diamond reflector puts down more light than any other horizontal lamp reflector on the market - when compared to standard Dutch Barn type reflectors it can help to increase yields significantly.

Designed in a photometric laboratory the spread of light from the lamp is scientifically optimized. You can visibly see the difference between the amount of usable light being reflected by the Diamond and that being put down by other reflectors, but the best way to see how good this reflector is to buy one and trial it along side another brand - you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results.

The small version is suitable for both 250W and 400W sodium and metal halide lamps and measures 49cm x 55cm x 12cm. The larger version takes both 600W and 1000W sodium and halide lamps and measures 59cm x 66cm x 17cm.

Good reflector at a sensible price, highly recommended.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Everybody says that this reflector can add between 20-50% to your yield, do you have any data to back this up?
No. However we've been selling this reflector for over two years and the general feedback from customers is an increase in yield of between 10-30% when used side by side or instead of a budget open ended reflector. We feel that we have had enough positive feedback to now say that the manufacturers claims are in at least part way true.
Q: It looks weird, what's with the strange design?
The manufacturers (Eco-technics) took a selection of grow lamps to a photometric lab and said "Please design us a range of reflectors that optimizes the downward spread of light from these grow lamps". The lab came back with two different sizes as one size did not fit all lamp sizes, it's worth bearing that in mind hen looking at reflectors that say they fit all lamp sizes. Basically, they designed a reflector that produces a much more even spread of light underneath the lamp - both heat and light follow the same pathways so if you spread one you automatically spread the other. This has two yield increasing benefits. Firstly, the amount of usable light the plants receive per square metre is increased as there is less of a drop off in light levels as you move away from the reflector. Secondly, because the heat has been spread out over a wider area you are able to get the reflector closer to the plants, which gives better penetration of light to the lower areas of plants, this seems to be where most of the extra yield increases come from.
Q: I've got a good quality reflector already, will I see such big yield increases if I change over to a Diamond reflector?

Some, but not necessarily enough to warrant stumping up the money for a new reflector. We would only recommend this for people using budget, open ended reflectors, this where you would see the types of yield increases that are commonly talked about with this reflector.
