One of the fastest growing horticultural hobbies and an excellent way to try hydroponics for yourself is by growing chilli peppers. Known as chilli, Chile or generally as chilli in the UK, these spicy peppers from the genus capsicum have formed a part of the human diet in South America for more than 6,000 years. Growing them can be both surprisingly easy and also take a lifetime of dedication, with more and more clubs being formed...
that are dedicated both to growing the plant and developing new strains as well as enjoying the wide varieties of foods that be created or enhanced with some extra spice. We offer a variety of options from the excellent Aerogarden – a hydroponic system that is pre-programmed with the correct lighting schedules and nutrient monitor to let you set it up in your kitchen and start harvesting chillies just a few weeks later.
Watering Systems: There are plenty of great sites offering advice such as the excellent www.chillisgalore.co.uk which features a huge range of information on growing your favourite plants as well as a lively forum that includes a good hydroponics section. We have worked closely with Wilf from Chillis Galore to work out exactly what products to put in this section and the items listed below are the results of this research.
As well as the Aerogarden we have also included the Autopot systems which are an outstanding, gravity- fed watering systems that are equally at home inside or in the greenhouse. We also stock a variety of crop specific nutrients including GT’s one-part Chilli Focus or the three-part FloraSeries from GH to allow a greater level of control for more experienced growers.
