Here at Green’s Horticulture we offer a complete range of growing mediums to suit all gardeners whether they are looking for premium soils that are pre-fertilised or unfertilised, coco coir or rockwool and clay pebbles for hydroponic systems. Our soils include major brands such as Plagron light mix and Batmix as well as newer names such as the Plant Magic soil – another unfertilised light mix but one that uses Fytocell as an additive to improve oxygen retention, something we have recommended for a long time. We also offer a range of products to improve your substrates, such as the Fytocell, and perlite is also available and comes already mixed to the Plagron range. Worm casts and BioBizz Pre-Mix offer an organic way of improving your soil and Plant Magic Granules are increasingly popular for use when potting on in either soil or coco. 

Hydroponic Grow Media

We stock Cultilene as our preferred brand of rockwool for use in hydroponic systems as in our opinion it is the superior product to Grodan. Rockwool is basically a form of molten basalt rock that has been spun into thin fibres, but where Grodan is spun in a single direction Cultilene benefits from being spun in two directions which helps it to retain its structural integrity when soaked. Also available for hydroponic growers is the RHS certified hydroleca and Seramis clay pebbles and granulate.
