Cultilene Transplanting Cubes

Our experience has shown that Cultilene Transplanting Cubes are a big improvement over Grodan Mineral Wool (commonly referred to as Rockwool), with their superior construction ensuring they keep their shape when wet.

These cubes are made from Mineral Wool – molten basalt rock that has been spun into thin fibres – but whereas the Grodan cubes are only spun in a single direction, Cultilene cubes are spun in two directions making for a stronger end product. 

We offer three different versions of the transplant cubes:

Option One – three-inch small hole, measuring 75mm x 75mm x 75mm with a hole measuring approximately 25mm x 25mm x 40mm.

Option Two – three-inch large hole, measuring 75mm x 75mm x 75mm with a hole measuring approximately 36mm x 36mm x 40mm. This is the most popular size of transplant cubes as it will fit Root Riot cubes and 41mm Jiffy Pellets as well as the Cultilene and Grodan Propagation Cubes.

Option Three – four-inch large hole, measuring 100mm x 100mm x 75mm with a hole measuring approximately 36mm x 36mm x 40mm. This larger size offers greater stability for larger plants, and as with option two can also be used with Root Riot cubes and 41mm Jiffy Pellets.
