Flood and Drain Systems

  • IWS is a quality system that produces consistently high yields. Nutrient floods the pot at regular intervals forcing out old air. A pump then drains the nutrient drawing fresh air back in to the rootzone. This regular feeding of the roots mimics a natural cycle, but at an accelerated rate and allows the roots to take up more oxygen and food each time.
  • Flood Frequency, Flood Duration and Flood Height are the essential 3 factors in the successful use of an IWS System. These factors will also be dependant on which type of growing medium/substrate you prefer to use, the type of plant you are growing and the temperature/lighting in your grow room. Adding Coir to Clay Pebbles mix can increase the amount of time between floods for example.
  • IWS Systems

The IWS system is a reliable, easy to use, pot based growing system designed with the grower in mind. As with all flood and drain systems it can be used with a wide variety of hydroponic growing mediums, although in our experience (and the manufacturer experience) using the bottom third of the pot as pure clay pebbles and the top two thirds as their own coco/clay mix will provide optimum results. ...
