Origin Systems combines the ease of growing in pots with the growth boosting and maintenance-saving benefits of automated, timer-based watering and feeding. Their innovative design helps bridge the gap between soil and hydroponic gardening and helps resolve common issues associated with hand-watering plants.
Hand-watering plants is not only an often time-consuming and inconvenient task that often needs to be done daily, but it also means your plants are blasted with water and nutrients all at once, which can lead to the problem of overfeeding and overwatering.
Origin Systems are great because they work on a timer-based drip feed system, which can be set to give your plants an ample amount of nutrients and water throughout the day, without the need for your constant attention - a perfect solution for those of us who live busy lives and one of the main benefits associated with hydroponic based systems.
However, with these systems you can use pretty much any growing media you like, from soil and coco to clay pebbles and rockwool. The systems are designed to be versatile and suit a range of growing needs - we personally recommend clay pebbles as they tend to give better results and are easier to manage and set-up with the Origin Systems.
The boosted growth stems from feeding plants little and often. This staggered method of delivering water and nutrients to plants has been shown time and time again to more effective at promoting growth and increasing yields than feeding and watering only once a day.
Origin Systems are also an ideal solution for any grower looking to move from soil and test the water with hydroponic-style gardening. The familiarity of using pots remains for soil growers, but the benefits of automated watering and feeding will really help make the leap from soil to hydroponic cultivation.
These XXL Origin Systems have a reservoir volume of 150 litres and the tray measures 115cm x 115cm x 20cm. There are four different pot sizes available with the XXL Origin System for maximum versatility; 6 litre pots, 11 litre pots, 18 litre pots, and 25 litre pots.
The choice is yours on what pot size you wish to use, and the systems are designed to be fully interchangeable, so you can replant into larger pots when necessary without having to buy a whole new system.
The complete Origin kit contains a tank, tray, pots, pump, delivery system, flood drippers, arrow drippers, and a full set of instructions for easy set up.
A timer is not included in the kit but will be required to set feeding and watering schedules. A segmental timer will be more than adequate, is inexpensive, and can be set at 15-minute intervals over a 24hr period to ensure you have full control over the delivery of water and nutrients.

Delivery Information
Most orders are shipped within 24 hours.
Orders are currently shipped with Parcelforce (Express 24 service for standard and heavy/bulky items) or DPD Local (Premium next-day), a signature will be required on delivery. We have been shipping orders for over 15 years and our courier choices are subject to change as service levels fluctuate.
All orders are shipped via next-day courier service. You will be informed via email or SMS the evening your order leaves us so you know to expect it the next day. On the morning of delivery, you will get another SMS or email informing you of the expected delivery time.

As the website calculates some charges by weight it is possible that shipping is not calculated correctly. We reserve the right to get in touch in these circumstances we will request the additional amount or offer to refund the order.
UK Delivery
Standard delivery to the UK Mainland addresses (excluding Scottish Highlands & Islands, offshore and N.I.) is charged at a flat rate of just £6.95 per order or £9.95 (for the premium next-day service - this service is weight-based and will increase with volume), standard delivery (with Parcelforce) is free* for orders over £50.
*Large and/or heavy items attract a surcharge from our courier - shipping surcharges are calculated per item and are applied regardless of order value.
Non-UK mainland destinations are charged by weight.
Collect in Store (Bristol)
We now offer a 'collect in store' option, which allows you to pay for goods online and collect from our Bristol store at a time that suits you (within our opening hours).
The process is simple:
- place your order and pay online, select 'Pick Up' at checkout;
- receive an email confirming that the order is ready for collection;
- bring/show your confirmation email and photo ID to collect your order.
International Delivery
We are pleased to offer shipping to the European Union. However, please be aware of the following policies and conditions:
Import Duties, Taxes, and Fees
Orders shipped to countries within the European Union may be subject to import duties, taxes, and other fees, which are imposed once the shipment reaches your country. These costs vary depending on your location and local regulations. All such charges are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid upon receipt of goods. Unfortunately, we are unable to calculate or cover these fees on your behalf.
Shipping Times
While we work with reliable shipping partners to ensure your order reaches you in a timely manner, please note that we do not have control over transit times or delays due to customs processing. The total delivery time may vary based on the destination, customs clearance procedures, and other factors beyond our control. We advise customers to check with local authorities for an estimated timeline of processing and delivery.
Customs and Import Responsibility
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that goods ordered are allowed into their country. We cannot be held responsible for any shipments that are delayed, held, or rejected by customs due to import regulations in the European Union. In such cases, we are unable to offer refunds or replacements for undelivered items.
Shipping Tracking
You will receive a tracking number once your order is dispatched, allowing you to monitor its progress. However, please note that tracking information may not update consistently while your package is in transit or undergoing customs clearance in your country.

Returns policy
If your package arrives and the product is damaged or does not function as it should, please immediately contact Greens Horticulture on 0117 971 3000 or email us – a suitable replacement will immediately be arranged free of charge.

If you are not entirely satisfied with any product purchased from Greens Horticulture, we will offer you a replacement or refund. Refunds will be made within the 14 days following the return of the product(s) to the store, provided the products are in 'as-new', resaleable condition.
For products returned under this 14-day-money-back guarantee, you will be liable for any postage charges incurred.

Include all parts, accessories, packaging, instruction leaflets etc. that were sent with the product.
Ensure that products are in the same condition as when they were delivered to you i.e. unused and not tampered with.
